The YWCA Kidz Therapy Room provides affordable and quality therapy services for underprivileged children with special needs between 2 to 12 years old. Early intervention for special needs children within a conducive setting is very important to help them integrate better with the society. The physical intervention and occupational therapy seek to improve their gross motor skills and develop adaptive living abilities. This integrated early intervention programme aims to benefit each individual child as well as benefit other children, teachers, community and the society at large, thus creating a more caring and nurturing society that embraces individual diversities.
Since 2009, over 160,000 greeting cards have been sent through our S.E.N.D for Hope programme to raise funds for numerous children charities. Show your support now by visiting www.capitaland.com/cards or by clicking on the image above to send as many e-cards as you wish. Not only is this e-card service absolutely FREE, you'll also get to have fun playing our CAPITASTAR game and stand a chance to win STAR$® this year!
Your little gesture will go a long way to help raise awareness of the care and support required by underprivileged children with special needs. May there be room in everyone's heart for all the compassion and kindness, as there is room in heaven for all the stars.
Blessings to you and yours this holiday season!
Young Women's Christian Association Singapore (YWCA)
The YWCA was founded in 1875 and has come a long way from its humble beginnings of organising enrichment classes for young overseas Chinese girls to the pioneering community service provider that it is today. The span of quality programmes and services that help to promote welfare and improve the lives of the underprivileged in the community has enabled them to reach children, youth, disabled, elderly and families beyond that of young women. The YWCA also supports early detection, early identification, and early intervention of children with special needs or children at-risk. Early intervention within a conducive normal pre-school setting will greatly enhance their chance for coping and succeeding in our normal local primary school stream.
CapitaLand Hope Foundation
CapitaLand Hope Foundation, the philanthropic arm of CapitaLand, was established in 2005 to further CapitaLand's community development commitment to ‘Building People. Building Communities', by recognising that the long-term success of the company's business is closely intertwined with the health and prosperity of the communities in which it operates. Every year, CapitaLand allocates up to 0.5% of its net profit to the Foundation to promote social growth and development of underprivileged children with respect to their education, healthcare and shelter needs. CapitaLand Hope Foundation is a registered charity in Singapore and strongly believes each child has within them the potential for greatness, which if nurtured and built upon, can bring significant value to future societies. Going beyond donations associated with charitable giving, the Foundation also focuses on giving time and attention to the children beneficiaries through advocating volunteerism. The strong commitment of volunteers embodies CapitaLand's mission to care for and contribute to the economic, environmental and social development of communities.
* CapitaLand Hope Foundation will donate S$2 for every unique recipient that a sender sends the electronic card to. A unique recipient is identified by a unique email address. CapitaLand Hope Foundation is committed to donate up to S$25,000 in support of this charity drive.
