Go "green" this Christmas with CapitaLand by sending your well wishes with our eco-friendly electronic greeting cards and bring hope to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. For every e-card sent from now until 31 December 2013, CapitaLand Hope Foundation, the philanthropic arm of CapitaLand, will donate S$2* to World Vision to provide immediate relief to affected families of Typhoon Haiyan. This is also in support of the ongoing fundraising efforts by our colleagues at The Ascott Limited in the Philippines.
Super Typhoon Yolanda, internationally known as Haiyan, struck the Philippines in the early morning of 8 November 2013, causing mass devastation and claiming thousands of lives. The full extent of the damage is difficult to ascertain due to massive communication and power outages across the provinces. UNICEF estimates that 1.9 million people were displaced, including nearly 800,000 children. World Vision is gathering resources to assist about 240,000 families with food, non-food items, hygiene kits, emergency shelter, and protection, especially for children and women. It is also running 18 long-term community development programs to assists over 34,000 registered children in the heavily affected provinces of Bohol, Leyte and Cebu.
Show your support now by visiting www.capitaland.com/cards or by clicking the images above to send as many electronic Christmas greeting cards as possible. Your little gesture will go a long way to help raise awareness of the need for care and support in the Philippines, especially in the aftermath of the disaster.
CapitaLand Hope Foundation
CapitaLand Hope Foundation, the philanthropic arm of CapitaLand, was established in 2005 to further CapitaLand’s community development commitment to ‘Building People – Building For Tomorrow’, by recognising that the long-term success of the company’s business is closely intertwined with the health and prosperity of the communities in which it operates. Every year, CapitaLand allocates up to 0.5% of its net profit to the Foundation to promote social growth and development of underprivileged children with respect to their education, healthcare and shelter needs. CapitaLand Hope Foundation is a registered charity in Singapore and strongly believes each child has within them the potential for greatness, which if nurtured and built upon, can bring significant value to future societies. Going beyond donations associated with charitable giving, the Foundation also focuses on giving time and attention to the children beneficiaries through advocating volunteerism. The strong commitment of volunteers embodies the true spirit of community development at CapitaLand.
* CapitaLand Hope Foundation will donate S$2 for every unique recipient that a sender sends the electronic card to. A unique recipient is identified by a unique email address. CapitaLand Hope Foundation is committed to donate up to S$25,000 in support of this charity drive.
